Challenge(s)

  • Uber faced a number of legislative, public relations, and adoption challenges in the state of Michigan

  • These challenges stood in the way of Uber’s expansion and made it difficult to secure state-wide operating service agreements

  • Uber approached The BTL Group about becoming compliant, increasing ridership across the state, and diversifying the driver base across age, race, and gender

Solution / Approach

  • Developed and executed a complex policy campaign to help Uber overcome some of the aforementioned challenges

  • Activated relationships at the city and state level to execute a community engagement program, specifically around well-attended city events, like the North American International Auto Show

  • The BTL Group’s efforts on Uber’s behalf resulted in a 100%+ increase in ridership
